Conditions

TAX: 5%.

Reservations: Reservation must be placed with AVIS at least 1 hour prior from departure from the country.

Minimum Rental: 1 day.

Minimum/Maximum Age:

• Minimum age: 21 with American Express charge cards.
  Minimum age: 23 with AVIS, MasterCard, Visa, or travel voucher supported by a charge card.
  Minimum age: 25 with travel voucher supported by a cash deposit.
  Maximum age: None.

Driver’s License: Valid drivers license from country of origin together with an International Driver’s License. An International credit card will be required.

Credit Card: An International credit card accepted by AVIS will be required at the time you collect your vehicle; said credit card will be blocked to be used as a guarantee and to cover any extra charge not included in the Voucher, such as, gas, insurance deductible, etc.

• Charge Cards: American Express, AVIS, MasterCard, Visa, AVIS or AVIS-honored travel vouchers and MCO’s.
• Charge card hold: Minimum Charge for Card Hold: U.S. $750 for all the Groups plus the total amount of the rent.
• For any portion of a week after a complete week, the additional days charge card hold will also be added to the complete week’s amount. Example: Customer is renting group A for 1 week and 1 day. The charge card hold will be 1 week (US$ 500.-) plus 1 day (US$ 250.-) for a charge card hold of US$ 750.-.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES

Airport Fee: 10%.

Airport locations

• PT2, DAV: 6% of time & mileage charges (Airport Service Fee).
• PTY: 10% of time & mileage charges (Airport Service Fee).

Additional Driver: US$ 5.- per day per additional driver with the exception of spouse. Each additional driver (including spouse) must be registered by the renter at the rental counter prior to driving the vehicle. All additional drivers must meet AVIS driving requirements and be present when registered. If an additional driver is registered during the rental, the AVIS vehicle must also be brought to the location for inspection. No additional drivers are allowed on cash deposit rentals.

Gas / Diesel: Not included in rates. Approximate cost per U.S. gallon: US$ 8.50.

One Way Rentals:

• Within Country: Cars can be driven between David and Panama City for a one-way fee of US$ 180.-. Distance between these two cities is 486 kilometers (302 miles).
• Outside Country: Not applicable. Cars are not allowed outside of Panama.

No-Show/Cancellation Policy:

• Groups G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O & P: To be guaranteed, reservations for these groups must include the customer’s charge card number, expiration date and billing address. A no-show fee of US$ 75.- will apply if the reservation is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice or if the customer does not rent the vehicle within 12 hours of the reserved time.
• All Other Car Groups: Reservations for other car groups will be honored up to 8 hours after the reserved time or until closing, whichever comes first. A No-Show Fee does not apply.

Motor Liability Insurance: Public liability and property damage coverage is not included in rates. Customers are required to purchase third party liability coverage which is available with the damage waivers or ALI as outlined below.

Damage Waiver Plus Third Party Liability Coverage:

Purchase of LDW or PDW is mandatory, with two exceptions:

• Paying with an American Express card which offers coverage on the vehicle rented. (All coverage conditions must be met). In that case, the ALI becomes mandatory.
• Renting on the U.S. Government rate (KX).
  * ALI is not available on group N and O. Customer must purchase PDW or LDW (no exceptions).

PDW (Partial Damage Waiver): Relieves the customer of financial responsibility above the non-waivable excess as listed above.

LDW (Loss Damage Waiver): Relieves the customer of all financial responsibility. Damage waivers offer coverage to the AVIS vehicle in case of damage due to collision or theft provided that the customer complies with the rental agreement terms and conditions. Damages due to vandalism, fire, partial theft and other occurrences clearly stated under the terms and conditions of the rental agreement are not covered and the customer is fully liable for the AVIS vehicle in such events. Damage waivers also include Third Party Liability coverage (see ALI for description). The renter will be responsible for the full cost of the damage if the car is driven in violation of the rental agreement, is abused or driven recklessly or while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

ALI (Third Party Liability): Purchase of Third Party Liability coverage is mandatory for anyone who is eligible to decline & elects to decline both damage waivers.

• Coverage limits of Third Party Liability are:
  Property damage: US$ 10,000.-
  Public liability: US$ 10,000.- per person, US$ 25,000.- per occurrence.
  * ALI is not available on group N and O. Customer must purchase PDW or LDW (no exceptions).

PAI (Personal Accident Insurance): Provides accidental death & medical expense benefits to the renter and all passengers in the AVIS car (up to the maximum capacity established by the manufacturer).

• Benefits: Medical expenses per occupant (up to the maximum capacity established by the manufacturer): US$ 2,000.-
• Death of driver: US$ 25,000.-
• Death of each passenger (up to the maximum capacity established by the manufacturer): US$ 10,000.-

PEP (Personal Effect Protection): Covers personal effects in the rental car up to a limit of US$ 1,000.- with a US$ 50.- deductible.

T&W (Tires and Windshield): (Counter Sell Only) Covers the tires and front windshield of the rental vehicle. US$ 3.- per day. No deductible.

Coverage:

Property Damage up to US$ 10,000.-
